EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES MASTER PLAN

The Board of Education will hold a special Board meeting on Monday, December 5 to receive updated information about the proposed Educational Facilities Master Plan (EFMP).  The Core Team has analyzed data and feedback received from the community and will present two options culminating with a recommendation of one concept to the School Board. A Board decision is anticipated to take place on December 12 during the regularly scheduled Board of Education Business meeting.

Please make arrangements to attend this very important presentation and conversation at Hawthorn Middle School South at 7 p.m. Monday, December 5. Childcare will be provided along with a light snack. We look forward to seeing you there.

La Mesa Directiva de Educación sostendrá una reunión  el lunes 5 de diciembre para recibir información actualizada de la propuesta sobre el Plan Maestro de Instalaciones Educativas (EFMP).   • The Hawthorn School of Dual Language is a two-way immersion model of education utilizing the English and Spanish languages
  • Homerooms are comprised of 50% English dominant and 50% Spanish dominant students.
  • The idea of Dual Language programs is that students work together with their peers and teachers to become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural by fifth grade.
  • Literacy is taught in both English and Spanish in al grade levels (with the exception of Kindergarten)
