The purpose of this fundraiser is not just to win a free Olive Garden lunch, but more importantly, to raise money to help children with Leukemia.

The winning class will be announced before spring break.  Thank you all for participating in this important cause.

Students Raise Funds for AHA

“Jump Rope For Heart” Fun at DL

First through fifth grade physical education students participated in Jump Rope for Heart, a fundraiser benefiting the American Heart Association. During this event, students practiced a variety of rope jumping skills and learned about how to keep the heart healthy and strong. This experience created much excitement and interest from our school community, and was enjoyed by all! We are happy to announce that over $23,000 was donated to the American Heart Association!

Reminder: Monday, Feb. 16th – Yes, There is School!

The two days students missed earlier this year due to inclement weather will be made up on Monday, Feb. 16 and Monday, March 2. Students are expected to be in attendance on those days.

Students will make up the Feb. 2 snow day at the end of the school year.

Behavior Assembly

All students of Dual Language learned more about “Respect, Responsible, and Safe” behavior during our Behavior Assembly.  Here, children learned about the new behavior matrix and our way of tabulating behavior  with Class DoJo in the common areas…hallway, cafeteria and the like.  Our hope is that kids will make the community a better place as they strive to be the best version of themselves.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE MOTHER DAUGHTER TEA

The PTO is looking for volunteers to help with the Mother Daughter Tea on Saturday, March 7th, 2015.  In addition, we are also looking for help the week prior to the Tea, for set up the evening of Friday, March 6th, and for Bakers to donate items to the Tea.  In the SignUp Genius link below, you will see openings for 1-2 hour time slots as well as for “Bakers”!

This is a great way to learn about the 4th-grade Mother Daughter Tea especially if you are a parent that will be attending in the coming years.  Also, if you have attended the Tea in the past and enjoyed it, this is a great way to show your support for its continued success.  If you are a 4th grade parent, don’t worry about helping this year, as we want you to enjoy the event!
