Door Contest

Doors Open with Positive Messages about Friendship

Classroom doors at the School of Dual Language are doing much more than opening and closing. They are promoting positive messages about friendship.  Students in 18 classrooms, from kindergarten through fifth grade, decorated their doors as part of a Social Emotional Learning initiative.  Friendship was the theme.

Clarification About Today’s Drill

As you know, Hawthorn District 73 schedules drills throughout the year to ensure our schools are prepared for emergencies and other events. This morning a drill took place at Townline Elementary and the School of Dual Language. While a parent posted on Facebook that this was an actual lockdown, this was only a drill. While we encourage community engagement on our Facebook page, please contact the school prior to posting information about events such as drills to ensure the information on our Facebook page is correct.
