Kindness

The Hawthorn School of Dual Language has taken on the Kindness Challenge. The nationwide challenge was adopted by this school to create a culture of kindness going into the summer months, said School Social Worker Erika Diaz.

Students were challenged with observing acts of kindness in others such as showing respect, good behavior, and including others. Each time a student was caught in the act of kindness a heart was placed on the tree.

“You should be respectful to others. It doesn’t matter who they are are. It hurs others when they’re not well treated,” said Fifth Grader Britzaida Gonzalez.
